How to wait It's not waiting, it's fear of waiting

You've probably been in situations where you had no choice but to wait. For people like me, especially with ADHD, waiting can feel like genuine torture. Waiting to reach a mountain summit while hiking. Waiting to hit a 2-hour walking record. Sitting through a party you were sure you wouldn't enjoy. Surviving a 3–4 hour flight with no internet.

Just for fun, I Googled it and read the top three results (+, +, +). Pure fluff.

Like most advice out there, the research was completely disconnected from reality. When you're actually in a situation where you need time to pass before reaching a goal, it almost always turns out to be far easier than you imagined it would be.

My conclusion: patience itself isn't hard. What's hard is the anticipation of having to be patient, and that anticipation is what stops people from doing things in the first place.

So if you're facing something that requires waiting, don't stress about it. Most of the time, the experience is much smoother than you expect.
